The toxic effects of α-amanitin (I) [23109-05-9] injections in mice were prevented by pretreatment with carbaica (II) [34879-34-0].Wherein, mice treated with I (1 mg/kg, i.p.) showed 100% mortality over 72 h after the injection. The mice given II before the I injection showed, over the same time, 30-40% survival depending on the quantity of the drug administered. The serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase [9000-86-6] and glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase [9000-97-9] of poisoned animals were greatly reduced in those treated with II.The higher the dose of II, the greater the reduction in enzyme activity.
