What to expect at JEC World 2023: Exhibit previews

Photo Credit, clockwise from top left: Composites Expert, Conbility, TeXtreme, Cygnet Texkimp JEC World 2023, the composites’ industry’s largest trade show, is almost here, scheduled for April 25-27 at the Parc d’Expositions Nord Villepinte in Paris, France. Each year, the event attracts thousands of attendees, hosting two exhibit halls, conference programming and more focused on the latest materials and process technology and applications in composites manufacturing. This year, the show will feature more than 1,200 exhibitors from around the world. A number of companies have sent CW exhibit previews to let us know what to expect from their JEC World booths this year. What follows is a summary of the companies and previews we have received so far. Click on each company’s name to find a full exhibit preview for their JEC booth. 9T Labs: The company is demonstrating its Additive Fusion Technology (AFT) Red Series platform and real-world applications, and its initiatives toward sustainability. Alan Harper Composites: AHC presents its reusable silicone technology, an alternative to unsound consumable bagging options for fiber infusion processes. Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp: The flax fiber composite organization hosts an expanded Natural Fiber Village, complete with exhibited flax products, a central networking/social area and a presentation on its work on flax fiber LCA. Anaglyph: PlyMatch, a novel augmented reality technology, Laminate Tools, CoDA and LAP are a few solutions from Anaglyph that are well-suited for the design and manufacture of complex composite parts. Carbon Axis: Carbon Axis unveils tape winding and heating capabilities for XCell, a turnkey automated fiber placement (AFP) robotic cell. CGTech: Advanced programming and simulation for the production of composite parts will be highlighted through CGTech’s Vericut software products, including VCP, VCS and Vericut. Composites Expert: Online learning platform E-Learning Composites Academy launches a preview of its new module of welding technologies for thermoplastic composites. CompoTech: Custom-designed carbon fiber/epoxy components and automated fiber winding machine offerings will be on display, emphasizing CompoTech’s focus on designing and supplying turnkey composites technologies. Conbility: Conbility launches a new towpreg winding machine dedicated to material, process and component development for companies and research centers. Cygnet Texkimp: Prepreg technology specialist unveils novel Multi Roll Stack machine capable of more sustainable, lower-cost prepreg and towpreg production. Diab: Diab is presenting new sustainable solutions and circular core materials, including the Divinycell materials range and a variety of project parts. Dieffenbacher: The machine manufacturer highlights materials, process and automation solutions aimed at intelligent manufacturing for e-mobility applications. DLR/EmpowerAX: DLR's open platform EmpowerAX presents a functionalized, cost-effective composite demo part, made using additive extrusion with short- and continuous fiber-reinforced materials. Eastman Machine Co.: Stop by Eastman Machine’s booth to see firsthand full-scale automation in conjunction with the Eagle C135 conveyorized cutting system. Engel: Engel’s organomelt process as a single integrated production cell for thermoplastic composite production demonstrates high production efficiency and low unit cost for aerospace and automotive. Expo-Net: The company is exhibiting it thermoplastic resin flow mesh products for vacuum infusion, plus a new processing guide and bio-based thermoplastics R&D. Freudenberg Performance Materials: Freudenberg Performance Materials is presenting an extended range of surfacing veils and core materials for the production of lightweight composite parts. The European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA): EuCIA presents a major update to its lifecycle analysis (LCA) tool and launches new branding. Future Materials Group: The advanced materials M&A specialist is releasing its latest composites market update report, and invites participants to discuss strategic objectives. Jetcam International: Jetcam expands its reach geographically and on the shop floor with an exhibition of its exclusive nesting and automation software solutions. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical America: Mitsubishi Gas Chemical is showcasing its advanced materials business segments and their thermoset and thermoplastic composite material offerings under one roof. Pinette PEI: Installation of a Tifanni versatile composites production line will enable Pinette PEI to process a range of materials with high performance and precision for research projects, product development or the production of a small number of parts. Roth Composite Machinery: Roth Composite Machinery is showing its new automation concept for reliable fiber changes as well as the company’s novel winding software. Schütz Composites: Schütz displays high-tech and energy-efficient applications achieved through its state-of-the-art composite materials, including an aircraft floor panel solution. SGL Carbon: SGL Carbon launches new 50K Sigrafil C T50-4.9/235 carbon fiber, which will match the high strength requirements for pressure vessels, for example, to store hydrogen at 700 bar. Sicomin: Sicomin celebrates 40 yars at JEC World with the launch of two novel GreenPoxy products and an informal drink reception at its booth. Slack & Parr: Slack & Parr is showcasing how its high-precision metering pumps are being used to accurately manage the flow of resins, polymers in composites manufacturing processes. Techni-Modul Engineering: Techni-Modul Engineering is exhibiting is Smart Control automated technology, which enables high-rate, AI-driven kitting, stacking and layup of preforms and composite parts. Teijin Group: The Teijin Group is featuring its sustainable composite products and technologies, as well as a panel of speakers on Wednesday afternoon. TeXtreme: The unveiling of TeXtreme Gapped UD, a dry carbon reinforcement material designed for resin infusion processes, is highlighted as a high-performance, cost-effective OOA material solution. Web Industries: Web Industries highlights lower production costs and improved buy-to-fly ratios for composite parts via its precision formatting capabilities. Wickert: A high-speed, high-temperature heating-cooling composite press to be unveiled at Wickert’s booth cuts cycle times, ramps up production. Zund: Zünd is talking workflows at this year’s event, with a preview of its latest developments in digital cutting and kitting for fiber-reinforced composites.
