Amazon Pharmacy
announced it will offer pharma giant
Novo Nordisk's
Ozempic pill, which received FDA approval earlier this year, for home delivery or pickup via an in-office kiosk through its digital pharmacy.
The Ozempic pill is a GLP-1 used to treat Type 2 diabetes. It was not approved by the FDA as a weight-loss drug.
Amazon Pharmacy said it will offer same-day prescription delivery and pickup within minutes through its kiosks at select
One Medical
locations.
Same-day delivery services will begin in nearly 3,000 cities and towns and expand to nearly 4,500 by the end of 2026.
Amazon Pharmacy said next-day, two-day and three-day prescription delivery services will be available in regions where other mail-order services take five and 10 days.
"Customers with an Ozempic pill prescription can order through Amazon Pharmacy, see real-time availability in their area, view transparent pricing and receive fast delivery directly to their door nationwide, regardless of Prime membership," Amazon Pharmacy said in a statement.
"With insurance, pricing starts as low as $25 per month. For cash-pay customers, pricing begins at $149 per month with manufacturer-sponsored savings offers applied automatically before checkout."
THE LARGER TREND
In January, Amazon Pharmacy announced it would offer Novo Nordisk's GLP-1 Wegovy pill for weight management, giving individuals with commercial insurance the pill for as little as $25 per one-month supply, and cash-paying customers could receive it for $149 per month.
Buyers can also compare insurance versus cash-pay prices, and eligible coupons are
automatically applied
when an individual checks out, the company said.
In October, the tech giant
debuted Amazon Pharmacy Kiosks
, which allow patients to pick up their prescriptions inside select One Medical offices almost immediately after their medical appointment.
The company said each kiosk would be stocked with medications based on the prescribing patterns common to the particular One Medical facility.
Meanwhile, Novo Nordisk has partnered with numerous digital health companies to offer Wegovy and Ozempic through their platforms.
In April 2025, the pharma giant
announced a partnership
with the direct-to-consumer virtual care company
Hims & Hers
to offer a bundled package of Wegovy and a Hims & Hers membership, starting at $599 per month. Less than two months later, Novo Nordisk announced it was terminating its contract with Hims & Hers,
alleging the company engaged in deceptive practices
.
Over the next several months, Novo Nordisk announced partnerships with
WeightWatchers
,
GoodRx
,
TrumpRx
and
knownwell
