Swiss CDMO SHL Medical has opened
a new
$220 million
factory in North Charleston, SC, which will manufacture autoinjectors for GLP-1 therapies, among other drugs, the company said Tuesday. The 360,000-square-foot factory will create 300 new jobs.
Logistics provider DHL has
acquired
the clinical trial logistics firm Cryopdp from its parent company Cryoport, which specializes in supply chain logistics, for an undisclosed amount, according to a Monday press release.
AGC Biologics has
formed
a new cell and gene technologies division, which will operate out of its sites in
Milan, Italy
; Longmont, CO and its new
Yokohama, Japan
factory which will be operational in July. The division will be headed up by Luca Alberici, who previously served as general manager of the Milan factory, the company said Wednesday.
Boehringer Ingelheim subsidiary NBE Therapeutics
opened
a new antibody-drug conjugate R&D facility in Basel, Switzerland, the company said Thursday.
German biotech Siemens
is
partnering
with Miko Pharma to develop manufacturing facilities in Ghana, according to a Tuesday press release. Siemens will build the new infrastructure for Miko’s operations in Ghana and will add 130 new jobs.
Cellares has been
granted
an FDA Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) designation for its automated cell therapy manufacturing tech, the company said Tuesday. The ATM is a program
launched
by the FDA in December 2023, with the aim of encouraging companies to use technologies to improve drug manufacturing.
Sumitomo Chemical has
launched
a new CRO
called Sumitomo Chemical Advanced Medical Solutions America, headquartered in Marlborough, MA, the company said Tuesday. The new CRO will provide services to Sumitomo Chemical’s Oligonucleotide CDMO.
ASP Isotopes has
started
commercial manufacturing of the radioisotope Ytterbium-176 at its site in Pretoria, South Africa, the company said Tuesday. Ytterbium-176 is used in the production of the isotope Lutetium-177, which is used in drugs like Novartis’ Pluvicto.
Bend Bioscience has
added
commercial dry spraying and dry granulation services at its 120,000-square-foot facility in Gainesville, GA, the company said Wednesday.
Lonza’s new business structure launched
on Tuesday, according to a press release. The company had initially
announced
the new structure in December 2024.

INCOG BioPharma Services
said
it plans to expand its Fishers, IN-based facilities this year, the company said Friday. The expansions will also bring the total number of INCOG employees to more than 350 by the end of the summer.
DNA manufacturer 4basebio has
received
a Good Manufacturing Practice certification from the UK regulatory agency MHRA for its facility in Cambridge, UK, the company said Wednesday.
