The latest innovations enabled by Covestro materials include:
InfoBionic.Ai’s MoMe ARC® system: This remote cardiac monitoring device features Makrolon® 2458 polycarbonate from Covestro. This material provides durability, biocompatibility, and aesthetic quality, enhancing the device’s performance and user experience.
CQ Portfolio: A showcase of low carbon footprint solutions from Covestro, including a mono-material drug delivery demonstrator device that highlights simplified recycling by eliminating the need to sort different types of plastics as well as demonstrates the possibility of using regrind for the manufacture of new devices in the electronics industry.
Platilon® TPU films enable high performance wearables: A functional pulse oximeter showcases TPU film as a robust, durable and reliable substrate, offering excellent stretchability and conformability for printed electronics in wearables.

Polycarbonate resins and blends: Covestro’s medical grade materials including, Makrolon®, Bayblend®, Apec® and Makroblend® deliver exceptional strength and durability for many applications, and have been used in drug delivery devices, respiratory applications, medical device housings and more.
Polyurethane raw materials and adhesives: Baymedix® polyurethane adhesive and foam components offer excellent breathability, excellent absorption and low trauma removal. For wearable applications, Covestro offers skin-friendly adhesives and thermoformable foams for electronic embedding.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) resins: Texin® Rx TPU resins offer flexibility and strength, which are required for applications such as medical tubing and dental applications, resistant to cleaning agents and bacteria.
Films: Dureflex® and Platilon® TPU films are breathable, elastic, and skin-friendly for wound care, smart patches, and wearables. Bayfol® TPU/PETG bi-layer films and Makrofol® PC films are utilized in medical packaging, with Makrofol® PC also offering excellent performance in steam sterilization.
