ROYALE HOME HEALTH HAVE PARTNERED WITH DEDALUS Subsidiary of the Royale Hayat Hospital in Kuwait City, Royale Home Health has enabled remote hospitality services and holistic clinical care with enterprise mobility and a home care solution. This will ensure the continuum of care and integration of healthcare services at all phases of the patient journey. The innovative Home Care Solution enables a personalised approach to care coordination, with a specialised and trained care team. The features include facilitating the integrated scheduling of appointments with practitioner clinical documentation, geo-tracking of resources, and personalised health records that enable the patient to seek medical services as well as access their own clinical data. SOLENT NHS TRUST GOES LIVE WITH SEXUAL HEALTH SELF-SERVICE UK's Solent NHS trust has gone live with a system that will facilitate an integrated approach to the remote provision of sexual health services. Solent’s Personal Health Record (PHR), designed by healthcare IT provider Inform Health, aims to alleviate pressure on clinics of booking appointments through a telephone system. The first phase of the implementation will enable patients to book and amend clinic appointments online, which will allow clinic staff to digitally triage patients to streamline service delivery. Once all phases of the implementation are complete, Solent will be able to use the system to facilitate patient access to repeat contraception, postal testing kits, results and prescriptions. PHR will also be used to anonymously notify partners who could be at risk of a sexually transmitted infection. GLOUCESTERSHIRE HOSPITALS NHS FT WINS BID FOR DIGITAL ASPIRANT FUNDING Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS FT (GHT) will receive £6 million funding as part of the second wave of the Digital Aspirant programme. The funding will support its five-year digital strategy, which aims to take the trust from a HIMSS rating of around 0.02 to level 6 in five years. Mark Hutchinson, executive chief digital & information officer at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our digital strategy sets out the journey which began with us choosing Allscripts as our EPR partner. The pace at which we’ve been able to deploy and prove the benefits has massively improved confidence levels in digital across the Trust. It will have undoubtedly played a big part in NHSX’s decision to award us a place on the Digital Aspirant programme.” “On top of investment in infrastructure required to run an EPR, we’ve recruited people with the expertise to help us deliver significant change at pace. We’re now able to embrace the opportunities that digital transformation presents and see our digital journey as a key enabler to us becoming a CQC Outstanding trust and a future Digital Exemplar. Being part of the Digital Aspirant programme is not only a testament to our commitment, but it will accelerate our journey and help us to continue to deliver at pace.” NHS TRUST INTRODUCES DIGITAL-FIRST PATHWAY FOR ENDOSCOPY Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS FT has adopted a digital-first pathway from DrDoctor for its endoscopy diagnostic service. The move will give nursing staff more time to focus on care and engaging patients in the pre-procedure process. The trust is accomplishing this by using patient-facing digital technology to cut the time taken to gather pre-operative information by more than a quarter and consequently streamlining the patient experience. The technology allows the trust to send reminder messages, digital letters and assessments to patients ahead of their operations. DIGITAL HEALTH SERVICES COMPANY TO CREATE 50 JOBS Cloud21, part of the Austrian group x-tention, has announced that it will be creating 50 jobs to support digital health services across health and social care to support the NHS. Tony Corkett, founder director, Cloud21 said: "The NHS has a number of national objectives to meet. More recently cyber, data and integrated care have come into focus. Due to this, we are seeing an increase in demand for expertise and skills in delivering and supporting digital health and cyber technology that will enable health and social care organisations to meet these objectives. "The company is now at a stage of growth which will see us needing to scale our teams and processes to enable us to maintain high-quality services to the NHS. This next phase of growth for Cloud21 is really exciting as we need to recruit across the business representing positive growth and opportunity for local communities." NHSE APPOINTS INTERIM CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER NHS England has appointed former hospital chief, Mark Cubbon as its interim chief operating officer. Succeeding Amanda Pritchard, Cubbon was named as Pritchard's deputy COO and director for the NHS long-term plan delivery earlier this year. Taking up the role immediately, Cubbon will oversee the operational performance of the NHS and delivery of the service transformation and improvements to patient care. Meanwhile, Stephen Powis will be named the interim NHS Improvement chief executive. In a note to staff, Pritchard said that an open national process will begin shortly. ENGLAND'S NHS COVID-19 APP TWEAKED With the aim of having fewer contacts advised to self-isolate, the NHS COVID-19 app in England and Wales is being tweaked. When someone without symptoms tests positives, the app will now look for contacts two days prior, rather than five. This move comes as almost 700,000 alerts were sent by the app for the week to July 21, causing staffing issues in many industries. UK health secretary, Sajid Javid said this will still protect those at risk while reducing disruption.
