Cardiac Involvement in Coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2) Infected Health Care Workers: The CCC Study
The study will analyze the prevalence of cardiac involvement of health care workers from the University Hospital of Salamanca (HUSA) who have overcome SARS-CoV-2 infection. Participants will undergo a clinical evaluation, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and blood analysis including NT-proBNP, troponin, cellular and humoral immunity and genetics.
Comparison of Prasugrel vs. Ticagrelor on Myocardial Injury in Revascularized ST Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients
The investigators propose to perform a randomized clinical trial comparing prasugrel vs. ticagrelor in 60 patients with ST elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention. The principal objective of the study would be analyzing the difference in myocardial infarction size measured by cardiac magnetic resonance at 6 months
Population-based Study to Identify Structural Heart Disease Abnormalities in a Spanish Community: Salamanca. The SALMANTICOR Study
The SALMANTICOR study will obtain data on the prevalence and incidence of structural heart disease in a population setting. A cross-section survey of randomly selected residents of Salamanca (Spain) will be performed. A total of approximately 2400 individuals, stratifies by place of residence (rural and urban) and by age and sex will be studied. The variables to analyzed will be obtained from the clinical history, different surveys including social status, Mediterranean diet, functional capacity, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and biochemical and genetic analysis. Surviving participants are expected to return for a 5 and 10-year follow-up visit.
