US-based EndoQuest Robotics and Omnivision have entered into a partnership under which EndoQuest will integrate Omnivision’s OCHFA CameraCubeChip sensor technology into its flexible robotic system.
Omnivision is a global firm engaged in the development of semiconductor solutions, including advanced digital imaging, and touch display technology.
The new flexible robotic system is expected to provide advanced endoscopic visualisation.
EndoQuest Robotics CEO Kurt Azarbarzin said: “We are excited to be able to incorporate Omnivision’s market-leading sensor technology into the visualisation component of our first-of-its-kind platform.
“We recognise that advanced imaging is essential to enhancing physician capabilities, especially inside the lumen of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Omnivision’s newest technology is ideal for our Flexible Robotic System.”
EndoQuest has developed its flexible robotic system to address unmet needs in gastrointestinal and other endoluminal surgeries.
The system offers precision, flexibility, and improved patient outcomes, the robotic technologies firm said.
The company’s patented technology is made to fit into the body’s natural openings and carry out operations.
According to EndoQuest, this enables less invasive interventions and improves the skills of medical personnel.
The robotic technologies company has worked closely with researchers, industry partners, and healthcare professionals to advance the adoption of its flexible endoluminal robotic system.
EndoQuest Robotics, which raised $42m in a C-1 preferred financing round last month, has worked closely with researchers, industry partners, and healthcare professionals to advance the adoption of its flexible endoluminal robotic system.
Omnivision medical marketing director Tehzeeb Gunja said: “We are pleased to integrate our OCHFA CameraCubeChip into the EndoQuest Robotics platform.
“The OCHFA CameraCubeChip is a high-performance visualisation solution built with Omnivision’s PureCel Plus-S pixel technology, with a small 1.008-micron (µm) pixel size, in a 1/8-inch optical format; it features 720×720 resolution at 30 frames per second.
“The PureCel Plus-S technology enables high full-well capacity, zero blooming and lower power consumption for crisp, clear life-like images.
“The OCHFA CameraCubeChip comes in a compact 1.075 x 1.075mm size, with a 5mm to 50mm focus range and 120-degree diagonal field-of-view that is ideal for GI and other endoluminal procedures.”
