Validation, estimation and recovery studies of etoposide in bulk and injectable dosage forms using RP-HPLC and UV-visible spectroscopy

A simple, sensitive precise and specified reverse phase high performance liquid chromatog. method was developed and validated for determination of Etoposide in bulk and injectable dosages form.It is found that the excipient in the formulation does not interfere in the quantification of active drug by proposed method.The HPLC separation was carried out by reverse phase chromatog. on NH₂- (250mm×4.6mm) 5 μm with mobile phase composed of 0.030 M Sodium acetate Buffer pH 4.0: Acetonitrile (70:30) in isocratic mode at flow rate of 1.2 mL/min.The detection was monitored at 254 nm at ambient temperatureThe calibration curve of Etoposide is linear from 100 ppm to 300 ppm.The accuracy (recovery 98-102.4%) and reproducibility is satisfactory.

Packaging is a key for sale, safety and success.Like other packaged goods, pharmaceuticals packaging need to be in such a manner that it will provide speedy packaging, protection, identification, product quality, patient comfort, display and needs of security.Advancement in research of pharmaceuticals development had always being dependent on the packaging technol.Maintaining integrity of pharmaceuticals during storage, shipment, and delivery is assured by quality of packaging available.This article reviewing current pharmaceutical packaging trends and predicting the packaging outcomes in future.Packaging must provide protection against climatic conditions biol., phys. and chem. hazards and must be economical.The package must ensure adequate stability of the product throughout the shelf life.The primary packaging consist of those packaging components which have a direct contact with the product (i.e. bottle, cap, cap liner, etc).The main functions of the primary package are to contain and to restrict any chem., climatic or biol. or occasionally mech. hazards.The packaging external to the primary package is known as the secondary packaging.The secondary packaging mainly provides the addnl. phys. protection necessary to endure the safe warehousing and for refill packaging.Packaging are currently in use, as follows Unit-dose packaging & amp Device packaging.
