Field application tests of leaf spraying and root irrigation of Bacillus subtilis biol. agents on healthy Schisandra were conducted. Biol. agents on Bacillus subtilis have a very good control of powdery mildew of Schisandra, incidence under spraying plus irrigation treatment is 13.0%, incidence under spraying is 22.5%, and incidence treated with water is 37.5% in control. Control effects of the biennial, triennial and quadrennial are 78.9%, 77.8% and 75.0% resp., indicating that biol. control effect of spraying plus irrigation of Bacillus subtilis is the best. Bacillus subtilis biol. agents significantly promote the growth of Schisandra, increasing its leaf area, and the overall mean of leaf area of the biennial, triennial and quadrennial under spraying plus irrigation treatment increases by 6.7%, 42.4% and 27.6% resp. compared with the control treated with water. Bacillus subtilis biol. agents significantly promote fruit weight, berry weight increases by 21.33% and 28.79% resp. under spraying and spraying plus irrigation treatments compared with the water treated control, and Schizandrin content under spraying plus irrigation treatment reaches 0.74%.
