Modulation of the Brain Fog Scale by Eicosapentaenoic Acid Monoglycerides (MAG-EPA) in Volunteers Who Reported Suffering from Haze or Mental Fatigue on a Regular Basis. Exploratory Study (NBF-MG01).
A growing body of studies shows that omega-3s act directly in molecular signaling pathways that reduce inflammation and are thought to have a positive effect on cognitive health. Brain fog is a term that has been popularized in the medical world in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. A significant proportion of patients with long COVID reported having cognitive sequelae that were like fogginess. It is defined as a cognitive impairment with characteristic symptoms including problems with concentration, attention and memory, confusion, difficulty understanding what others are saying, reduced mental acuity and mental fatigue. These are episodes of reduced cognitive capacity that are not representative of the person's normal state. This condition can be caused by various factors such as stress, lack of sleep, overwork, depression, hormonal changes due to pregnancy or menopause in women, head injuries, migraine, certain diseases or viral infections, certain medications as well as substance abuse (alcohol and/or street drugs). In this study, we want to test whether omega-3 monoglycerides (MAG-EPA) can alter the cognitive health of people with brain fog.
Impact of a Daily Application of Omega-3 Monoglycerides Based Serum and Cream on Self-assessment of Eczema Severity as Well as on the Ratio of 4 Bacteria of the Skin Microbiota (Staphylococcus Aureus, Staphylococcus Epidermis, Cutibacterium Acnes and Streptococcus Pyogenes): Exploratory Study (COS-PBP-02)
This exploratory study aims to verify the impact on the severity of eczema as well as the prebiotic potential of a daily application of Omega-3 serum and cream on a skin with eczema. This study will also collect data on possible adverse effects of the products. Sixteen participants will be enrolled in this study and will be divided in two groups of 8 subjects that will receive two different treatments for forty-two days. The baseline condition will serve as a control for the effects observed after treatment on the targeted eczema area.
Impact of a Daily Application of Serum and Cream Containing Glyceryl Eicosapentaenoate and Short-chain Fatty Acids on Skin Hydration: Exploratory Study (COS-PBP-01)
This exploratory study aims to verify the hydrating potential as well as the possible irritant effects of a 14-day hydrating treatment consisting of daily application of serum and cream to the skin of two dry targeted areas. Thirty-three (33) subjects will be enrolled in this study and will be divided into three different treatment groups of 11 subjects each. Apart from the formulation of the cream which varies between the three groups, the subjects will receive the same serum and adhere to the same study plan for fourteen days. Each subject's baseline condition before treatment will serve as a control for effects observed after treatment on targeted areas.
