Objective: To study the effects of Yangxinshi tablet on myocardial ischemia induced by ligation of the coronary artery in rats. Methods: Ninety rats were randomly divided into six groups: sham group, model group, Yangxinshi tablet high dose group, medial dose group, low dose group and Nifedipine group. After 10 days of continuous administration, rat myocardial ischemia model was induced by ligation of the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery, then the changes in myocardial mechanics were detected. The activities of creatine kinase(CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide(NO) were determined in each groups. Myocardial infarction sizes were measured after tri-Ph tetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining. Results: Yangxinshi tablet significantly reduced myocardial infarction size, obviously decreased activities of CK, LDH and other Serum Myocardial Enzyme and improved abnormalities of ECG (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Yangxinshi tablet shows protective effects on myocardial ischemia.
