The objective is to improve HPLC mobile phase for quant. determination of compound capsaicin cream. Capsaicin, dihydro capsaicin and Me salicylate were determined by HPLC with mobile phase of acetonitrile -0.1% phosphoric acid (40:60), methanol-water (80:20); amount of camphor, menthol was determined by GC method. Capsaicin showed a good linear relationship in range of 11.3125-181.00μg/mL, dihydrocapsaicin 6.437 5-103.00μg/mL, Me salicylate 12.30-196.80μg/mL, camphor 0.2954-4.727 mg / mL, menthol 0.2837-4.539 mg/mL, (r=0.9999), recoveries were 95%-105%, RSD< 5%, resolution > 1.5. The improved method is simple, accurate, reproducible; the peak time is shorter than "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" recommended methods.
