Safety and Efficacy of Recombinant L-IFN Adenovirus Injection in Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors: a Single/Multicenter, Dose-increasing, Cohort Extension Clinical Study

This is an open-label, dose escalation study of the safety and tolerability of Recombinant oncolytic adenovirus L-IFN injection（YSCH-01） when administered via intratumoral injection in patients with advanced solid tumors. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of Recombinant L-IFN adenovirus injectionand to determine the recommended phase 1 dose for further study. The study will also evaluate antitumor activity, objective response rate, pharmacokinetics and virus shedding of Recombinant L-IFN adenovirus injection

Nasogastric tube versus postpyloric tube feeding for critical illness: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVESGastric tube feeding and postpyloric tube feeding are two common forms of enteral nutrition in critically ill patients. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of gastric tube feeding with that of postpyloric tube feeding in critically ill patients.METHODS AND STUDY DESIGNPubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were systematically searched for eligible trials from their inception until March 2023. Relative risks (RRs) or weighted mean differences (WMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to estimate categorical and continuous outcomes using the random-effects model.RESULTSSixteen trials involving 1,329 critically ill patients were selected for the final meta-analysis. Overall, we noted that gastric tube feeding showed no significant difference from post-pyloric tube feeding in mortality (p = 0.891), whereas the risk of pneumonia was significantly increased in patients who received gastric tube feeding (RR: 1.45; p = 0.021). Furthermore, we noted that gastric tube feeding was associated with a shorter time required to start feeding (WMD: -11.05; p = 0.007).CONCLUSIONSThis research revealed that initiating feeding through the gastric tube required less time compared to postpyloric tube feeding. However, it was also associated with a heightened risk of pneumonia among critically ill patients.

Downregulation of UBB potentiates SP1/VEGFA-dependent angiogenesis in clear cell renal cell carcinoma

AbstractClear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) presents a unique profile characterized by high levels of angiogenesis and robust vascularization. Understanding the underlying mechanisms driving this heterogeneity is essential for developing effective therapeutic strategies. This study revealed that ubiquitin B (UBB) is downregulated in ccRCC, which adversely affects the survival of ccRCC patients. UBB exerts regulatory control over vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) by directly interacting with specificity protein 1 (SP1), consequently exerting significant influence on angiogenic processes. Subsequently, we validated that DNA methyltransferase 3 alpha (DNMT3A) is located in the promoter of UBB to epigenetically inhibit UBB transcription. Additionally, we found that an unharmonious UBB/VEGFA ratio mediates pazopanib resistance in ccRCC. These findings underscore the critical involvement of UBB in antiangiogenic therapy and unveil a novel therapeutic strategy for ccRCC.
