A randomized, double-blind, active control trial to determine the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of INV-144 versus losartan potassium plus placebo in subjects with hypertension and Type 2 diabetes mellitus with nephropathy as evidenced by albuminuria.

The purpose of the study is to compare the effects of Azor (a combination of amlodipine and olmesartan) with Hyzaar ( a combination of losartan and hydrochlorothiazide) on the thin lining on the inside of blood vessels. These cells help keep blood vessels healthy and blood pressure normal.

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Nebivolol and Hydrochlorothiazide on blood pressure in African Americans with high blood pressure.
