An ICP-MS method for the determination of hazardous elements, including Cu, As, Cd, Hg, Pb in Brucea Fructus was established.The samples were digested at high pressure.The five hazardous elements were directly analyzed by ICP-MS.In order to correct the anal. signal drift, 72Ge, 115In and 209Bi which were selected as internal standard elements were added to both the standard solution and sample.For all of the analyzed hazardous elements, the correlative coefficient of the calibration curves was over 0.999 5.The recovery rates of the procedure were 93.2%-107.1%, and its RSD was lower than 9.7%.This method is convenient, quick-acquired and accurate.The method can be used for the quality control of Brucea Fructus and the content determination of trace elements in Brucea Fructus from different habitats.
