BD hires Carrier operations SVP to be chief integrated supply chain officer

Becton, Dickinson and Co. (NYSE:BDX) has hired Rishi Grover as EVP and chief integrated supply chain officer. Grover joined the executive leadership team at Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based BD on July 7. He will have global responsibility for leadership of the company’s supply chain, operations, procurement, sustainability, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) teams. He replaces Alexandre Conroy, who will retire after a 31-year career with BD at the end of this year. “I would like to thank Alex for his decades of leadership and dedication to BD, our customers and our teams,” BD Chair, President and CEO Tom Polen said in a news release. “He is a great example of how to build a successful career at BD, and we wish him all the best in his well deserved retirement.” Grover joined BD from Carrier (NYSE:CARR), where he was SVP of operations and led the modernization and digitization of operations and processes across the $20 billion HVAC, refrigeration and safety company. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based Carrier has 47 manufacturing facilities around the world and Rishi was responsible for all aspects of global operations, including lean manufacturing excellence, supply chain efficiency, operational transformation and EHS, BD said. Before that, Rishi was VP of global operations and systems for Collins Aerospace and held roles of increasing responsibility at UTC Power, Hamilton Sundstrand and UTC Aerospace Systems, BD said. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford, a master’s degree in systems engineering and management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in electronics from the National Institute of Technology in Surat, India. “Rishi has deep expertise in lean manufacturing and supply chain operations that will continue to ensure BD is at the forefront of our industry in navigating the current environment of unprecedented supply chain challenges while we build for the future,” Polen said in the news release. “His career has been focused in industries known for their focus on quality, the use of advanced technologies in their supply chains and excellence in managing through complexities in materials and manufacturing. This experience will serve BD well as we advance our BD 2025 strategy and improve the speed and efficiency of our global supply chains.” BD is the world’s 15th-largest company in the medical device industry, according to Medical Design & Outsourcing‘s Medtech Big 100 ranking. The company’s medical segment includes medication delivery solutions, medication management solutions and pharmaceutical systems. BD spun off its diabetes business as Embecta in April. BD’s OEM contract manufacturing business makes infusion solutions for medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies through tubing extrusion, injection molding, highly automated assembly, packaging and sterilization.
