To establish an assay method for psoralen in fig leaves for further resource development.RP-HPLC method was adopted with Kromacil C18 column (150 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm), methanol-water (58:32) as mobile phase at flow rate of 0.8 mL/min and 246 nm as detecting wavelength.The linear range of psoralen was 1.256-125.6 μg/mL (r = 0.9999).There was apparent difference in psoralen content between different leaves of the same branch at the same collecting time.The method, which is simple with good reproducibility, can be applied in the assay of psoralen in fig leaves.The content of psoralen varies in different fig leaves.
