To establish an identification method and an HPLC method for Zhenhuang tablets.Microscopic identification, phys. and chem. identification, TLC, and HPLC methods were used.The identification methods of pearls, Scutellaria baicalensis abstracts, cow bezoar, pig bile, Panax notoginseng, peppermint oil, and borneol in Zhenhuang tablets were established and an HPLC method was used to quant. determine the baicalin content in Zhenhuang tablets.The regression equation of standard curve was W = 7.32 × 10-8 A + 3.57 × 10-4 (r = 0.9998, n = 6).The calibration curve of baicalin was linear over the ranges of 0.011-0.570 μg.These methods are simple and credible, and can be used to control the quality of Zhenhuang tablets.
